Achieving optimal health, physical and mental, has always been my focus. While raising a young family many years ago, I became alarmed by the increase in children’s mental issues, particularly ADHD and autism. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology, specializing in behavioural exceptiona-lities. I taught for over 15 years at private schools, where I saw firsthand the effects of a fast-paced life on children. Subsequently, I became an instructor therapist for ErinOakKids, working with kids with autism. Having personally benefited from homeopathy, I realize the importance of identifying and healing the root cause of diseases and disorders - homeopathic medicine demonstrates this time and time again.
For many years I had been passionate about maintaining good health, striving to treat my family’s ailments with the most “natural” means possible. Through a friend’s recommendation, I sought treatment from an alternative care practitioner who simply used “little white medicine pellets” to restore our health inexpensively and without side effects. Best of all, our health issues were resolved permanently after only a few visits. Impressive!
My professional training in this complementary and alternative medicine began at the British Institute of Homeopathy in 2009, and continued at the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine (CCHM) in Toronto. I completed the practitioner program which included over 4,000 hours of instruction in Nutrition, Anatomy & Physiology, Pathophysiology, Physical Examination, the homeopathic approach to numerous clinical conditions such as neurology, immunology, gastroenterology, gynecology, urology, rheumatology, dermatology, cardiology, and of course psychology. Clinical cases – in-class and our own private patients – provided valuable practical experience.
I opened my practice after graduating from CCHM and registered with the College of Homeopaths of Ontario, a governing body mandated by the Ministry of Health of Ontario to regulate the practice of homeopathy in this province. I am also a member in good standing with the Ontario Homeopathic Association (OHA), as well as the North American Society of Homeopaths (NASH), both very well respected and longstanding organizations of professional and student members.
My practice includes treatment for acute illness as well as chronic conditions, for both adults and children. I am particularly passionate for helping the “walking wounded”, and specialize in those illnesses stemming from emotional trauma, anxiety, depression or grief.
